What is identity diffusion?
The word “identity diffusion” describes a stage in a person’s identity formation process. It’s usually the stage of adolescence when a person hasn’t fully established their social relationships or identified their personality activities – and isn’t actively attempting to do so. They will have to make a succession of decisions and responsibilities in order to grow and define their identity.
